Pop[ovich] Day!

Happy Father's Day!

Over the past year or so, Justin and I have made a point to have Sunday dinner with my parents. At first, my mom would casually invite us over, then after a few weeks straight, we just made it a thing! Usually, Rylee isn't involved because we have to take her back to her mamma on Sundays around 7, but this Sunday was Father's Day so little bit got to stay the night.

I have always been very close with my dad (even when he would tell me I was adopted), and we have always shared a special bond. Maybe it was because I was the baby, or maybe it was because I was the closest thing to a son he was going to get. Yes, I was the "tomboy." I loved to hunt and fish and I played every sport I could! When I wasn't old enough to go to sleep overs, my dad and I would stay up late and play board games. These were the nights he would tell me I was adopted. :) Even to this very day, I find it very easy to talk to my dad. Of course we had our moments. For instance, in high school, I was a great driver but very careless with my car. He had a thing about tires! I swear, I could come home with a dent in my door, but shoot... if I hit the curb with my tires while parking out front, the neighbors would know I was in trouble.

And of course, as most girls do, we had a boyfriend issue. Our issue however wasn't something we could brush under the rug, and unfortunately we had a falling out for about a year or so. I love my dad, and him and I are so much alike which causes of do really but heads. So, we were sucked into this black hole of a year and I can truly say that it was one of the hardest times in my life thus far. Sometimes I think back, and although I still don't agree, and honestly never will, I know that of bond only grew stronger because of our time in different corners. I know he loves me and only wanted what was best. It's hard to believe that it has been 4 year.

Well, everything happens for a reason, and after a painful year and a painful break up, in walked the man of my dreams. Ugh... that's so corny! But not only my dreams, my dad's dreams as well. I can't even begin to explain how well Justin and dad get along. It's almost scary how alike they are, as well. Dad absolutely loves him and Justin just can't get enough. They even have their own inside jokes :) I am very blessed to have them both in my life. I can't wait to watch Justin and Rylee's bond grow just as mine and my dad's did. I really can't even remember last Father's Days, but this one, just felt right. I had my dad, and Justin had Rylee, my mom and Brittany were there, we were just missing Allison.

Also, GO SPURS GO!!! My dad doesn't care so much about basketball, but Justin was one happy camper. Rylee Rose on Father's Days and a San Antonio Spurs Championship!!! How exciting! As we prepared dinner, we watched the Spurs and the celebrated our 4th win, in the NBA Finals, against [the horrible] LeBron James and those other guys. YAHOO!! I love my Spurs!
